Spatial Designer — Designing worlds for screen, stage and everything in between.
My story
I'm a Cape Town-born spatial designer who found his footing in the heart of one of the most vibrant festival scenes in the world. Cape Town's art festival culture is something special, raw, community-driven and being part of projects that helped shape that scene is where I discovered what I was capable of. The moment I learned how to take an idea from concept to something tangible, something people could walk into and feel, I knew this was my path.
What drives me is simple: spaces should move people. Not just visually, but viscerally. Every environment I design is built around a deliberate sensory palette, what you see, what you touch, what you smell, the emotion that hits you before you've consciously registered why. That multi-sensory approach is something I bring to every project, whether it's a festival stage in front of thousands or an intimate installation in a gallery.
From those early festival roots I grew into creative lead roles, designing and fabricating stages and installations across South Africa, Germany, Poland and Portugal. Over time that expanded into gallery design, art exhibitions, brand environments and commercial spaces. Alongside this I spent a decade working in front of the camera in the film industry, and that insider understanding of how sets are built, how a scene is composed, how atmosphere is constructed for screen, eventually pulled me toward production design. Merging those two worlds felt inevitable.
I'm now based in Berlin, working across spatial design, set design and brand environments for clients across Europe, and actively developing my practice in 3D visualisation to bring concepts to life with greater precision before a single thing gets built. The work keeps evolving. The intention behind it never changes.
